Note: Pictures will be coming soon... It's the story of the decade....What's in my Aquarium? Contents:
Japanese Fire-Belly Newt: these things are so cool their bellies are red and black spotted. When you pick them up they try to walk out of your hand. -Not to smart- If you stare at them directly they will stare back at you following you with their head. My newt is about 2 1/2 inches, they can grow to about 4. They shed their skin, one time I found this film floating at the top of my aquarium and it looked like my newt. Ack my newt has a ghost :) I bought this little fella for 2.99 in Wal-Mart he's about 3 months old. Dwarf African Frog: this frog is really small, it's body is about a centimeter and a half, when it's legs are stretched out probably just over 1 in. They are cute, but hard to find in the water they blend in with the gravel. He was also bought at Wal-Mart for 2.99 I've had him for about 3 months also. Golden Dojo Loaches: These suckers are long, they eat the algae and scum in the water. My loaches are about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long they are goldish greenish looking. They move very fast and will eat just about anything. Golden Dojo Loaches are omnivores and will eat anything from fish food to newt food as well as shrimp. I once again bought these guys at Wal-Mart, they cost 1.99 each. Guppies: Small about 1 inch long. I have 2 females and one male. I had another one but it died, I don't think it was doing well even before I bought it. They are omnivores as well, they stay mainly at the top of the aquarium. They look wicked against flourescent lights. I bought them at Big Al's Aquarium Services, the male was 2.99 and the females were 2.29 each. Flounder: The food cost more then the fish. They look cool. They are as flat as flat can be, they eat scum, so flounders would be scavengers. It is about 2 inches. It's eyes sit on the top of his head, it looks funny. Same color as the rocks, good at camoflaging, I'm calling him Magic Carpet. I also bought the flounder at Big Al's he was 2.88, the food cost 5.49. Why does the food cost more? Back To Main |
